Heavyweight world champion Lucas Browne says there is
'nothing in it' when it comes to fighting David Haye.
The recently-crowned WBA World champion has dismissed the
British fighter's claims that talks are already underway for a summer showdown.
Browne (24-0-KO21) beat Ruslan Chagaev on March 5 to become
Australia's first world heavyweight champion and has already set up plans to
make a mandatory defence against Fres Oquendo.
"Things like this are bound to happen following my win
over Ruslan Chagaev and I'm sure it happens to fellow-champions Charles Martin
and Deontay Wilder. It is what it is but there is nothing in it but
speculation."
Haye, who is still to announce his opponent for his fight at
The O2 on May 21, has added his name to a growing list of challengers that want
to take on Browne, with unbeaten New Zealander Joseph Parker also on the list.
Ricky Hatton promotes Sydney-based 'Big Daddy' and admits
they are looking for big fights and his team will be paying close attention to
the Sky Sports Box Office fight between IBF world champion Martin and Anthony
Joshua.
